    And it Begins!

When your passion shines through somehow that decision seems to make itself. While I'm sure it's not going to be an easy road, you have the drive to make this work. I know the new media mindset well, and the gut feeling of wanting people to understand and think differently about their communications and engagement.
I'll be cheering you on back here in Kansas City. Best of luck Ron!

What?! Did some old media bean counters not see the value of your insight? May they rue the day!

And may the gods be with you. You articulated the feelings of many who have walked the same path.

Ron, after working with you for most of those 8 years, and knowing that you are on the A-team of people that I have worked with, I can only think of those famous words...

"Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!" - Vinz Clortho, Minion of Gozer

You are the Keymaster! Now, go bust those ghosts of traditional media. But don't cross the beams :-)

Ron, I'm so sorry to hear the news. I'm really going to miss you guiding us down this new path. I'll be checking your blog regularly and listening for new Griddlecakes episodes from time to time. I wish you all the best.

It's a speed bump for that Fortune 1000 old media loving company.. But a clear highway for you! This is the beginning for you, Ron!

Ron, you did nothing wrong, trust me. When companies are squeezed by their shareholders they become deaf to unique and creative ideas, ideas which are often just intangible enough that they don't translate down to a quarterly bottom line. In this reactive mode, their leaders sometimes make poor decisions as they chase smaller and smaller bags of money in an attempt to make increasingly insatiable shareholders happy. From a positive perspective, this may be the best thing that has happened to you in years (easy for me to say!). Pod-on, dude!

    Ron,

You know how I feel. While it hurt you the most, it hurt me, too. I'm healing because of New Media - my RSS subscriptions to RonAmok & Griddlecakes Radio, the webcam, and you on my Facebook - make it seem a little less like I lost you. May RonAmok Communications be successful beyond your wildest dreams!

Oh man! This will show me for not reading this blog as often as I should!

This sounds like an incredible beginning! This makes what I sent you about an hour ago almost humorous. Now we REALLY need to talk.

    Talk to you soon!

Rats Ron, I commented the day you posted this (thanks to RSS!), but it didn't show up. I must have messed up somehow. Here goes again...

Ron, you have been a tremendous value to me and our product group. You introduced me to new media and ways that our business can benefit by using different "channels" to communicate more effectively with our customers and future customers...on their terms. Many of your suggestions are just now coming into play. Their value, and yours, will be demonstrated in time.

I look forward to keeping in touch with you my friend!
